The most important aspect for us is that economic arguments fall upon open ears throughout the course of these negotiations, and that every effort is made to find fair and pragmatic solutions throughout the course of this challenging period. The first round of negotiations on 19th June got off to an amicable start with David Davis MP (Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union) and Michel Barnier (Chief Negotiator – Task Force for the Preparation and Conduct of the Negotiations with the United Kingdom under Article 50 TEU) exchanging initial positions on the conceived 100 billion Euro exit bill, the rights of EU and British citizens living either in the UK or in the other 27 EU member states, as well as the future of the Good Friday agreement. The negotiations have been separated into four sessions.
